Monolith Companies To Provide Pole Position Award For World Crown 300

Friday, October 9th, 2009

Gresham BillboardJEFFERSON, GA (October X, 2009) Monolith Companies, LLC announced today it would serve as the Pole Position Award sponsor for the 26th-Annual World Crown 300 at Gresham Motorsports Park.

The Alpharetta, GA company – which specializes in the interior design, renovation, and construction of hotels – will provide a commemorative plaque and a $500 cash award for the driver who sets the fastest time in qualifying for the Sunday, November 15 event at the totally renovated Gresham Motorsports Park facility.

“I’m really excited to have Monolith provide this award and to have this facility in our community,” stated Russ Sutton, CEO and Chairman of Monolith. “We’ve always enjoyed associating our companies with class operations and good, quality people and the Gresham’s are certainly that. I wouldn’t hesitate to bring any of my clients out here. I will get more mileage of out bringing my customers and clients to Gresham Motorsports Park than I would if I took them to Talladega – and I can do it for about a third of the cost. This has a much more personal feel and my customers know I built my business on personal relationships. I can see us coming here, kicking back and watching some good old hometown racing. To be associated with this track is going to be good for us on multiple levels.”  For the past 15 years, Monolith Companies, LLC has specialized in providing interior renovation, restoration, and reinventions of hotels. Monolith’s extensive supplier and subcontractor network and sourcing strategies allows the company to pass savings on to its large customer base.

“Our Monolith business services national accounts like Hilton, Marriott and Hyatt hotels,” said Sutton. “They know our p assion for racing and they are always inquisitive about what we are doing. We’ve used NASCAR events to entertain our clients in the past and spent a fortune doing it all over the country. Gresham Motorsports Park presents us with an opportunity to bring our clients to Atlanta, closer to home, and to a place that we call our ‘home track.’ Here, they can watch our Team Monolith racers and we can get on a more personal level with some of our national clients.”

Sutton, who along with his wife regularly drives competition-tuned Ford Mustangs at Road Atlanta, also owns Sutton Racing Equipment, a Roush Performance Products based business.  “We’re currently opening a new store in Dawsonville, GA,” stated Sutton. “We’ll be expanding to also offer four-wheel drive, off-road performance products, and Simpson Racing items. We’re looking to offer the racers in North Georgia a place where they can select their performance and safety gear. We’ll be looking to open that facility prior to the Christmas holidays.”

Sutton also fields several INEX/600 Racing Series Legends and Bandolero division entries – all of which will compete in the Friday, November 13 portion of the World Crown 300 weekend at GMP.

“It’s going to be great to race here,” said Sutton. “This is an amazing facility and I know that our teams, fans and customers are going to be excited to attend events here for years to come.”

Monolith Hospitality Participates in HD 2009 Events

Monday, July 6th, 2009

Our creative interior designer, Amber-Rhiannon Gibson, was pictured in the City Scene: Next Generation section of the May-June edition of Hospitality Design Magazine.  She was photographed at the kick-off cocktail party for the HD 2009 Hospitality Design Expo and Conference.  The invitation-only networking party was held at the Whiskey Blue on the rooftop of the new W Atlanta/Buckhead hotel and was attended by 125 top designers, architects, purchasers and owners.  The exclusive invitations are a hot-ticket item, and Amber-Rhiannon did a great job representing Monolith Hospitality.

Monolith Hospitality, always interested in maintaining the cutting-edge in interior design, sent Amber-Rhiannon to Las Vegas for a week in June to attend HD’s Expo and Conference 2009 to research the latest in design resources and services among the 1,200 show floor exhibitors. The Expo is a great place for networking and meeting prominent designers who share their ideas and share information about their latest projects.  For example, Amber met and was photographed with celebrity designer Thom Felicia of Bravo channel’s Queer Eye for the Straight Guy and Todd Oldham, a mentor on Bravo’s Top Design, who introduced her to their new line of carpets.

While in Las Vegas, she also attended educational conferences and took backstage tours of two of Las Vegas’ most prominent hotels, the Hard Rock Hotel and the Encore Hotel.  Amber feels the high point of her trip was a two-hour, in-depth tour of Wynn Design and Development’s spectacular Encore Las Vegas.  The tour was personally guided by Encore’s principal interior designer, Roger Thomas.  Thomas is the creative force behind designing the most important properties on the Las Vegas Strip including the Mirage, the luxurious Bellagio and the incomparable Encore.  According to Amber-Rhiannon, “Mr. Thomas and I share the belief that travel, information technology and a comprehensive education in art history are fundamental elements in creative innovation.”  Amber believes the Expo was an exciting and inspirational experience that she plans to repeat every year.
